1. Research:
- Familiarize yourself with the company(Products, services, etc. )
- Get a general idea of what the daily tasks consist of and the business hours
- Try to find the exact location of the business a day or two before. You will then be familiar with about how long it will take you to get there (This will help to avoid the possibility of being late)
- Review your application to refresh your memory
- Come up with at least two questions that you may want to ask (A few questions are good, too many questions will make it seem as if you are “interviewing the interviewer”)
2. Dress to impress:
- You do NOT want to dress too flamboyant (excessive jewelry, excessive amounts of perfume)
- Dress conservative
- First impressions do matter
- Personal hygiene is very important
- Dress according to the job you are interviewing for (Office job, factory business etc.)
3. Be Prompt:
- Arrive at LEAST ten to fifteen minutes early
- If you arrive late it will definitely make for a bad impression. It will also show your lack of interest, and cause doubt in your ability to arrive to work on time daily.
4. Body language:
- Show confidence
- A firm hand shake and a genuine smile will get things started off great
- Slouching can be taken as a sign of laziness, maintain good posture throughout your interview
- Show enthusiasm and interest
5. Follow up:
- Being polite can go a very long way
- This will show your appreciation for your interviewer’s time and interest
- Shows your personal interest in the position you have been interviewed for
